More About Carolina Coffee and Tea Company

The grocery store operated in the days when men wore hats, boys wore knickers, and a barrel of pickles sat near a cash register almost as big as a shopping cart today. The Briggs branch of our family began selling general supplies in 1865, and in 1874 Briggs Hardware built Raleigh’s first skyscraper – all of four stories high!

Carolina Coffee and Tea Company continues the tradition of family merchants by delivering “Fresh Roasted Goodness to Your Door”. Our coffee is roasted in small batches by local roasters, and our specialty teas from Mighty Leaf Tea Company are made with ingredients from all over the world. With either beverage you will rediscover the real meaning of taking a “Coffee Break” or enjoying “Tea Time”.

We are a Christian family – decidedly committed to strong family life and Christ-honoring business ethics.  Sunday is the Lord's day and we do not transact business on that day. We are also a long-time homeschooling family, recognizing the value of educating our children at home. Joshua 24:15 As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
